Moving Into the Future On the Terrace

On Monday of this week, the staff were fortunate to be able to work with Sue Ashworth from Christchurch to look at our vision for the future and at how we would implement this in the best interests of children and their learning.  I'm really excited to say that we have made huge progress with this.  It is great to have been able to consult with the community.  The results will reflect community wishes for their children's learning and continue to reinforce the home and school partnership.

Last week we had our annual cross country run. Every child got into the spirit of the run and challenged themselves to complete the course. Well done to everyone.

The Community Satisfaction Survey is complete. However, the important part is yet to come. As a new Principal at Clifton Terrace, it is fantastic to find out where we are from a community perspective. I'm thrilled with the response which we had to the survey. Thanks for all your ideas. Now let's move the school from "Good to Great!"

World Environment Day is held on Thursday 5 June. The Clifton Terrace children are doing their bit to reduce their carbon footprint by walking to school from Dodson's Valley. It was lovely walking to school with everyone talking about school and life in general and doing something for the environment at the same time. Good on you kids. Keep up the great work!

Clifton Terrace Runners

Over the last three weeks, this team (plus one or two more) of very enthusiastic runners has been running in the inter school cross country races at venues around Nelson. They are so keen and very dedicated! Every Friday this group go for a training run in preparation for the race on Saturday. So far both the girls and boys teams are placed second within all the Nelson Schools. The next race is at Branford Park on Saturday 31 May starting at 3pm. We would love to see as many runners there as possible. Go the Terrace!
